For now, Chad Johnson can’t wear Ocho Cinco on jersey

Chad Johnson has changed his name, but his jersey remained
the same Sunday. The Cincinnati Bengals receiver legally
changed his name from Chad Johnson to Chad Ocho Cinco, but
the NFL decided against allowing him to put his name on his
jersey. “While the NFL has recognized the legal name change
of Chad Johnson to Chad Ocho Cinco, the league informed the
Bengals today that certain issues remain to be resolved before
Ocho Cinco will be permitted to wear his new surname on his
jersey,” the league said in a statement. “He will wear the
name Johnson on his jersey today and will be referred to as
Chad Johnson on the official play-by-play sheet,” the
statement said. “Further questions should be directed to the
league office.” Contacted Sunday by The Associated Press,
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, “He has a financial obligation
to Reebok, which produces the jerseys available to fans. That
has to be resolved before the on-field jersey can be changed.

Tom Brady injures knee in Patriots’ win

Tom Brady limped off the field in pain, and the New England
Patriots can only hope their Super Bowl hopes didn’t go with
him. The NFL’s reigning MVP left Sunday’s 17-10 victory over
Kansas City midway through the first quarter with an injured
left knee after being hit on a throw. There was no immediate
word on the extent of Brady’s injury — “I am not sure what
we are dealing with,” coach Bill Belichick said — or how long
he would be out. “It kind of looked bad,” wide receiver Randy
Moss said. Various reports Sunday night said Belichick told
the players that the injury was serious. The Patriots were
already looking for a possible replacement for Brady. A person
familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that former
Tampa Bay quarterback Chris Simms was coming in Monday for a
physical. Brady went to the locker room and wasn’t seen again
as backup Matt Cassel led the Patriots to the victory. Cassel,
who had thrown just 39 passes in his first three seasons, could
see a lot more action if Brady is sidelined next week — or beyond.
“They’re looking at him, doing some tests on him, so I don’t
have any information there,” Belichick said, cracking a smile
as he added, “doubt anybody’s interested.” The 31-year-old Brady,
who last season led the Patriots to an undefeated regular season
and their fourth Super Bowl in eight years, wasn’t available for
comment after the game. “He’s the face of the New England
Patriots, and Tom being who he is, it kind of hurts, to be honest
with you,” said Moss, who caught a record 23 TD passes from Brady
last season.

HIGH INTENSITY GREEN LASER POINTER

Retail Price: $79.99
YOUR PRICE: $39.99
Get Two for $69.98

This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a
red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much
more noticeable. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself
can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser
beam dot. This allows the green laser pointer to be used for
pointing to star constellations (skypointing) and also just
generally look… cool as hell!

You can be confident your laser will shine a constant beam up
to 2 miles with visibility that far exceeds that of your typical
red laser.

This Green Laser Pointer has so many features that we can’t
list them all. I will say that it is durable… solid, heavy
duty construction, comes with a nice carrying case and YES,
batteries ARE included.

Save even more when you buy two. Get one for $39.99 or get
two (2) for $69.98. To see this, get a full list of features

Cardinals center Johnson out for the year

The Arizona Cardinals placed center Al Johnson on injured
reserve Saturday, sidelining him for the season. Johnson hurt
his knee in training camp and had surgery in early August.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt had said he hoped to have him back in
the lineup on opening day. Johnson missed two games last year
with a knee injury. Replacing the 29-year-old Johnson on the
roster was center Pat Ross, who was elevated from the practice
squad. Ross was claimed by the Cardinals on waivers from
Carolina on August 1. He spent training camp with the team
and was released last Saturday and re-signed to the practice
squad on Monday. The Cardinals also released safety Oliver
Celestin.

Colts open up retractable roof

The Indianapolis Colts wanted a party atmosphere for their
first NFL regular-season game at Lucas Oil Stadium, so they
opened it up. The Colts opted to play Sunday night’s season-
opener against the Chicago Bears with the retractable roof
pulled back and the sliding glass window in the north end
zone wide open. Commissioner Roger Goodell, who attended
the game, called the new stadium “spectacular” and said the
windows on both ends made the Colts’ new stadium different
from any other in the league. NFL rules allow the home team
to make a decision about whether to open the roof 90 minutes
before kickoff. It must remain open through the entire game
unless the officials decide to close it for safety reasons.
