Seahawks Burleson practicing eight months after knee surgery

RENTON, Wash. – Nate Burleson is running pass patterns again,
effortlessly, like a gazelle. He’s catching almost every ball
thrown near him, as if he were the touchdown leader again.
Heck, he’s even lining up as a scout-team defensive back,
giving other Seahawks wide receivers someone to run against
during offseason practices. Hey, did this guy really have
reconstructive knee surgery eight months ago? “I feel like I
always have, like I’m the same player,” Seattle’s forgotten
game-breaker said with a big grin this week. He had just
finished three days of organized drills on the field with
quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, the new coaching staff and the
rest of the Seahawks. A month ago, Burleson hesitated when
asked if he’d be ready for training camp in late July. Now?
“If they are pushing me out there right now, I guarantee I
will be out there for training camp,” he said, chuckling.

Rams surprisingly release leading tackler Tinoisamoa

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Rams have released veteran line-
backer Pisa Tinoisamoa. First-year Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo
made the surprise announcement in a press release Friday,
calling it a “difficult decision based on a lot of factors.”
But Spagnuolo didn’t elaborate, and the Rams didn’t return
messages seeking comment. Tinoisamoa is a six-year NFL veteran
who led the Rams with 104 tackles in 2008. He was a second-
round draft pick (43rd overall) out of Hawaii in the 2003
draft. He had 76 tackles, two sacks and a career-high three
interceptions that season.

Bouman signs to compete with Lemon for Jags’ backup QB spot

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed
veteran quarterback Todd Bouman, giving Cleo Lemon com-
petition for the backup position. Lemon beat out Bouman for
the spot during training camp last year, but he struggled
during the team’s minicamp earlier this month. Bouman,
entering his 11th season, also has played for Minnesota,
New Orleans and Baltimore. He started three games for the
Vikings in 2001 and three games for the Saints in 2005.
He served as Baltimore’s third-string quarterback most of
last season. He spent four weeks on Jacksonville’s roster
in 2007. Bouman has thrown for 1,683 yards in his career,
with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

NFL announces 2010 Pro Bowl ticket sales plans

The National Football League announced today ticket sales
plans for the 2010 Pro Bowl at Dolphin Stadium in South
Florida. Preceding the Super Bowl for the first time, the
Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 and be
televised live on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET from Dolphin Stadium,
also the site of Super Bowl XLIV a week later on Sunday,
Feb. 7. The 2010 Pro Bowl marks the first time the event
has been on the mainland in 30 years and the first time in
South Florida in 35 years. Tickets to the Pro Bowl will
first be made available to Dolphins season ticket holders
in July. Current members may purchase their season ticket
allotment at the same price per ticket associated with all
2009 Dolphin Stadium home games. Following this exclusive
